Or maybe you’re not familiar with it at all. That’s fair considering there are fewer than 100 locations in the United States, and more than a quarter of those locations are in greater Los Angeles and the NYC area. Here’s the quick rundown: H Mart is an Asian grocery store that was founded in Queens, New York, in 1982. From K snacks to specialty produce to frozen dumplings, the market is chockfull of things you won’t find in other grocery stores. So if you’re lucky enough to live by an H Mart and don’t want to feel overwhelmed by options, here’s a guide to H Mart frozen food finds that caught our eye on a recent visit to a location here in L.A. And if you don’t have an H Mart nearby? Find the closest Asian supermarket and start exploring what they have to offer!

Bibigo Pork & Vegetable Dumplings

If you’re shopping at H Mart, frozen dumplings should absolutely be on your list. Making dumplings from scratch is tedious. Ordering in all the time can be expensive (and potentially disappointing if you don’t have a Din Tai Fung nearby). Naturally, there are tons of frozen dumplings to choose from at H Mart, but you can’t go wrong with Bibigo, a brand that consistently appears on Sporked‘s rankings of the best frozen dumplings and potstickers. Just don’t forget the dumpling sauce.

BOKMANSA Burdock Fried Tofu Vegan Kimbap

Eat your heart out, Trader Joe’s shoppers, because there’s tons of H Mart frozen kimbap to try. To be fair, no one is shocked at this discovery. But I like boasting about it while all the TJ’s lovers are trying to find workarounds for the two-kimbap-per-customer limit they have over there. While you figure that out, I’ll be chowing down on this fried tofu kimbap from H Mart.

Hansang Green Onion Pancake with Seafood

Scallion pancakes rule. I’ll always get them when I see them on any menu! So of course they’re a requirement for our H Mart frozen foods haul. These scallion pancakes are so loaded, they could be a meal all on their own, but they’ll work as a side or as a snack, too.

Surasang Morangak Cold Soup Noodle with Spicy Sashimi

Making frozen noodle soup seems like such a cop out, but you can’t deny the convenience of grabbing a pack that’s ready to go. Hey, if you want to go to H Mart and gather all the ingredients to make your own broth and noodles from scratch, be my guest. All my friends and I will be grabbing a pack of Korean cold noodles from the H Mart frozen food section, so don’t be too jealous!

O’Food Kimchi Fried Rice

Frozen fried rice rules—it’s the perfect side dish for the other finds you pick up in the H Mart frozen foods section (duh), but if you add some protein, you can make it a meal, too. There were a few fried rice options to choose from at H Mart, but this is a Korean market, after all, so I’m going with a kit that’s jazzed up with kimchi.

Pulmuone Potato and Mozzarella Corn Dogs

This is what I like to think of as the fan service on this list. Fan service is something that’s intentionally added into media to please the audience. We’re adding these to our list of the best H Mart frozen food to please even picky eaters who are looking to dip their toe into the H Mart waters. These corn dogs are fun, delicious, and perfect for kids and adult people who might be hesitant to try more adventurous Asian eats. But I’m not here to judge—I bought a pack to go with all my other finds!

Binggrae Samanco Taiyaki Red Bean Ice Cream Sandwich

There are two paths to choose from when grabbing dessert in the H Mart frozen food aisles. Do you want mochi or do you want taiyaki, aka those fish-shaped cakes filled with ice cream? I’m partial to the latter, so I grabbed these red bean taiyaki. Crispy on the outside and filled with a slab of ice cream and sheet of red bean paste, these are more texturally interesting than mochi, in my opinion. There are a few familiar flavors (like chocolate and strawberry), but give the red bean a shot, especially if you’ve never had it.
