A Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach Theory About Sun and Moon (2024)

Hello guys! I am here to post a theory I have about the Daycare Attendant in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. I'll do a post later on who I think Eclipse is From the DLC for Security Breach (BTW, this isn't related, but the new FNAF game, Into The Pit, comes out on my birthday).

When you first enter the daycare section, you are greeted by an animatronic by the name of Sun (Sundrop, Sunrise, etc....), who jumps into the ball pit with you. He picks you up and takes you over to a stack of barrels, which you have to push over in order to distract the animatronic so you can run over to the security desk. Once you grab the security badge, the lights go out in the daycare, and Sun falls behind the desk and turns into another animatronic entirely, who calls himself Moon (Moondrop, Moonrise, etc....). And it seems like that Sun changes to Moon in literally five seconds. But how does he change into Moon so fast? I have a theory about that.

My theory is that Sun and Moon run off of illusion discs that activate when the lights turn off in the daycare. Now, I'm not entirely 100% certain about this theory, this is just what I concluded after doing extensive research through the FNAF lore, Scott Cawthon's website, and many other sources such as FNAF wikis like this one.

To understand my theory, we are going to have to go back into the timeline, all the way back to one of the first games in the franchise, FNAF 4. Let's review what we know about the Nightmare animatronics. They also operate off of illusion discs, which use a few auditory cues to manipulate people's vision, which turned blank slates into twisting, lumbering nightmares of monsters. We know the nightmare animatronics have to have existed at some point in the timeline, based on the clues that Micheal Afton drew pictures in his security logbook of these animatronics.

These illusion discs most likely started working immediately after they were activated, which could support the theory that Sun and Moon are actually the same animatronic, just two different skins and personalities that vary depending on the time of day that they function. When the lights turn off, Sun's illusion disc activates, and Moon comes out (So to speak, Sun is still there, he has just changed his personality) so that he can take care of the kids. I feel that it would be a more complete theory than saying what other theories have said before (not trying to discredit any theories, or call out anyone in particular) such as the whole glow in the dark paint theory, and the changing clothes behind the desk theory. I also have done my research, and realized that it is not confirmed whether or not illusion discs are actually used in the series, and it would be considered a non-canonical object at the moment, so the whole idea of the nightmare animatronics running off illusion discs could actually be discredited and would have to be reviewed. Also, the theory that the Funtime Animatronics being the Nightmare Animatronics needs to be reviewed, since the Funtime Animatronics do not exist during the events of the fourth game, since 1983 is one of the earliest dates of the franchise, and Sister Location doesn't take place until AFTER William gets spring locked in 1993 (there's also many theories speculating whether or not Sister Location takes place before or after William gets spring locked, but I'll post my own theory about that later as well).

Given that the endoskeleton of Sun/Moon is very rudimentary (Clearly Henry's design as pointed out by multiple Game Theory Videos) and has many similarities to the endoskeletons of the Nightmare animatronics, Sun/Moon are most likely from the same era of these nightmare animatronics (another theory that I will post later when I have the time).

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my post. I put a lot of work and dedication into this theory, and I thank Scott Cawthon for making such a wonderful franchise that has grown into a topic of fascination within the gaming world. I also thank the fan base for being as creative and imaginative as they are (TJOC is my favorite fan game). Thanks!
